Bluestar® Blood Reagent Bluestar Forensic Blood Reagent is a blood enhancement reagent whose purpose is to reveal blood stains that have been washed out, wiped off, or are invisible to the naked eye. This product is intended for crime scene investigators. Based upon chemiluminescence, the unique formula qualifies it as the most effective blood reagent available on the market for crime scene, as well as forensic lab use. Bluestar Forensic does not alter the DNA of the revealed blood which allows for subsequent comparison. Bluestar is non-toxic and easy to prepare and apply. Bluestar is available in field kits or in reagent tablet format. Each tablet application is mixed with 4 oz. of water. Training tablets and a training DVD are provided for educational purposes.

Hexagon OBTI - Human Blood Verifier

Hexagon OBTI - Human Blood Verifier Hexagon OBTI is the perfect complement to the Bluestar Forensic Reagents. This rapid screening test verifies that a suspected sample is human blood. When the result is positive, you know you are in presence of human blood. Hexagon OBTI is a two-part test: a collection tube for the blood sample, and a test bar. A sample of the presumed human blood trace is transferred into the tube with transport medium. This mixture is added drop by drop to the test. A positive sample is typically detected within 2-3 minutes. A single blue line means the testing liquid is operational but no human blood has been detected. Two blue lines verifies the test has detected human blood. Provided as a package of 24 or 6 tests.

Luminol

Luminol Blood Reagent Luminol Blood Reagent is generally used to assist in the visualization of blood stains and blood patterns or impressions. Luminol is very sensitive and commonly used to locate very faint blood traces when attempts have been made to clean suspected areas. Invisible footwear patterns may be uncovered at a crime scene when processed with Luminol. Luminol is generally applied with a sweeping motion from a spray bottle or pump sprayer. EVIDENT provides Luminol in premeasured vials for ease of use in the field. One vial mixed with the corresponding quantity of water may be gently mixed in a spray bottle and applied to the suspected areas. Luminol is time sensitive and should be used immediately after mixing. After application, blood stains and patterns will glow a bright green and should be photographed immediately, as the effect will fade quickly. Each package contains six premeasured vials of powdered Luminol, ready to mix with water.

Luminol Field Kits These prepackaged Luminol Kits include everything necessary for locating trace blood evidence with Luminol. Each kit includes Luminol reagent and a spray bottle applicator. Available as three different sized field processing kits or as a Luminol training demonstration kit.

Pressurized Chemical Sprayer

Pressurized Chemical Sprayer This Pressurized Chemical Sprayer may be used to apply Luminol, Bluestar, Amido Black, LCV, Ninhydrin, DFO, and other processing chemicals. The high quality metal spray nozzle delivers an ultra fine mist which reduces the potential for excessive application or sample dilution. The sprayer is ideal for use in the laboratory or at the crime scene. The kit includes the sprayer housing, sprayer bottle, and pressurized canister. Additional 4 oz. sprayer bottles and pressurized refill canisters are provided separately. The pressurized refill canisters are non-toxic and non-flammable. Each pressurized canister will apply approximately 16 oz. of liquid chemical. A set of three replacement sprayer nozzles is also available. The 4 oz. sprayer bottles may be prefilled with chemicals prior to use in the field. Always wear a respirator.

Hemastix® Blood Test Strips Hemastix are small 3” plastic test strips with a square of blood reagent material at the tip. Unknown substances may be absorbed onto a swab moistened with sterile water, and then transferred through contact to the square of blood reagent material. The yellow reagent material will then turn shades of green if blood is present. Provided in a package of 50 test strips.

Phenolphthalein Presumptive Blood Tests These easy to use presumptive field tests provide an efficient way to determine the presence of blood. Place a small sample inside the heavy gauge resealable bag and sequentially crush the color-coded vials, the resulting color will provide indication. Provided as a package of ten individual test pouches.

Heme-Stix

Heme-Stix Blood Test Tubes These test tube style tests allow for the presumptive testing of swabs or other small samples of suspected blood. Place the swab tip or sample inside the tube and break vials to reveal potential blood. Provided in a package of ten individual tests.

Forenstix Blood Tests

Forenstix™ Blood Test Swabs Forenstix Blood Test Swabs provide a quick test for the presence of blood. Moisten the swab pad with the included distilled water, rub the swab on the suspected stain, break the crush vials, and observe a color change to indicate a positive reaction to the presence of blood. Luminol tests for use in a darkened area. Eight swab tests per package.

Phenolphthalein Presumptive Blood Test Kit

Phenolphthalein Presumptive Blood Test Kit This kit contains all the premixed chemicals and supplies required to conduct the phenolphthalein blood test. The kit is packaged with the premixed liquid reagents provided in plastic dropper bottles. A known blood standard is included to test the reagent.

Combination Blood Test Kits Many investigators use the combination of two different tests as a presumptive test and confirmatory test for the presence of blood. Packaged with all the necessary premixed chemicals and supplies to conduct either the phenolphthalein and ortho-tolidine blood tests or the phenolphthalein and leucocrystal violet blood test. The premixed liquid reagents are provided in plastic dropper bottles.

Tetramethylbenzidine Presumptive Blood Test Kit Many investigators use this highly sensitive test as a confirmatory test after the Phenolphthalein Presumptive Blood Test. A positive presumptive result yields a blue color. Packaged with all the necessary premixed chemicals and supplies to conduct the Tetramethylbenzidine Presumptive Blood Test. Presumptive Semen Tests When searching scenes or collecting evidence, it is often helpful to perform a presumptive test for the presence of semen upon those stains that fluoresce under UV light. All the reagents of the Semen Field Tests are sealed in glass crush ampoules and packaged in a disposable applicator. The Semen Test Kit includes dropper bottle reagents. A positive result for the presumptive presence of acid phosphatase (semen) is indicated by a deep purple color.

Forenstix™ Semen Test Swabs Forenstix Semen Test Swabs are designed to provide the crime scene investigator with the ability to conduct a presumptive chemical field test for the presence of semen. Simply remove the protective cap, moisten the swab pad with the included water, rub the swab on the suspected biological stain to transfer a sample of the stain to the pad, break the crush vials in the plastic tube, and observe a color change in the swab pad to indicate a positive presumptive reaction to the presence of semen.
